The Florida Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck early Saturday morning on Blue Angel Parkway. Troopers said the unidentified man was walking westbound in the eastbound lane of Blue Angel Parkway at 3:35 a.m. when he was hit by a truck, driven by 56-year-old Edgar Lloyd Proctor, who was driving eastbound. The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. Charges are pending, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
