PANAMA CITY SEWER LEAK

Panama City officials say swimming in Watson Bayou between 10th Street and Highway 98 is being discouraged until further notice because of a sewage leak. The leak was discovered in a heavily wooded storm water ditch in the 600 Block of North Palo Alto Avenue. The broken sewer line was repaired, but it is not known how many gallons of sewage leaked into Watson Bayou. City Manager Mark McQueen said the City has notified the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and will continue to test the water.
