OKLAOOSA COUNTY CHURCH FIRE

Firefighting crews battled a large fire at the First Baptist Church of Milligan on Old River Road in Okaloosa County yesterday afternoon. The call came into the Sheriff’s Office at 3:34 pm. and no one was in the church at the time. The source of the fire was not officially known, but Pastor Charles Smith said it may have been caused by a lightning strike. The roof of the church was completely destroyed, but no injuries were reported.
