NEW BAY BRIDGE

Eastbound traffic from Pensacola to Gulf Breeze should begin flowing on the new bay bridge on Sunday and law enforcement officials say the speed limits on the new bridge will be strictly enforced. Highway Patrol troopers, and officers from Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Police Departments will enforce an initial 35-mph speed limit on portions of the bridge while construction is taking place and the 45-mph speed limit on the first bridge expanse while the second bridge expanse is built. The 400 million-dollar bridge replacement project is scheduled for completion in mid-2021.
