1ST JUDICIAL CIRCUIT MEDICAL EXAMINER

Santa Rosa County has voted to approve an interlocal agreement with Escambia, Okaloosa and Walton counties that would make Santa Rosa County the administrator for the contract for a new medical examiner. A nonprofit organization will be established and the four counties will contract for autopsy services, as opposed to contracting with a private business as they do now. The State Medical Examiner’s Commission chose not to reappoint Doctor Andrea Minyard for another term and her last day is September 30^th. A search committee unanimously voted to hire California forensic pathologist Scott Luzi as the new medical examiner.
