ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

The Milton Police Department says a juvenile was accidentally shot Friday morning in Milton as a group of students played with a handgun at a home in the Whiting Pines neighborhood. The victim was said to be speaking when transported by ambulance. Three students involved in the incident left the scene, causing nearby schools to go into lockdown. Tim Wyrosdick, School Superintendent, said six schools were placed on lockdown, but all reopened by 9:45 a.m. The shooter was taken to the Milton Police Department for questioning.
