CERVANTES STREET SAFETY PROJECT

The project to improve safety on Cervantes Street may now include three more traffic lights. Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson met with the Florida Department of Transportation after some businesses and residents objected to a fence-like barrier that would be erected in the median between crosswalks. Robinson said FDOT will not eliminate the barrier, but are willing to pay for three additional lights to help slow down traffic. Those lights would be added at “B”, “L”, and “Q” streets. A new light at “J” Street is already planned for the project.
