VEHICLE PURSUIT ARREST

Pensacola Police say a man is in custody after fleeing on foot after a vehicle pursuit. Police said 22-year-old Austin Wigley was wanted on outstanding warrants and police were pursuing him when he crashed his car at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Creighton Road at about 2 a.m. and ran. Police deployed a drone to aid its search, and Wigley was apprehended about 4 hours later. He was charged with a variety of felonies including two counts of grand theft auto, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and violation of probation. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail without bond.
