SHOOTING FOLLOW-UP

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has provided more information about the man who was shot and killed yesterday morning on Massachusetts Avenue. Major Andrew Hobbs said 29-year-old Rashud Dexter was found dead of gunshot wounds at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Stara Circle around 1:30 a.m. Hobbs said Dexter was shot twice in his legs about two weeks ago on Lucerne Avenue in the same area. Dexter told investigators then he’d been in involved in a drug transaction and was robbed of $15,000, but refused to say who shot him.
