The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department says 30-year-old man was arrested for trying to rob Ritz Food Store in Baker. The two store clerks said they saw a handgun in Nicholas Weber’s waistband and he said he planned to rob the store. However, they were able to persuade him to leave the store on Highway 4, by giving him a cigarette. Arriving deputies saw Weber throw something over a cargo container, and retrieved a BB gun that looked like a Beretta semi-automatic pistol. Weber was arrested and charged with two felonies including robbery.
