HIT AND RUN DRIVER CONVICTED

The hit and run driver who struck and killed two people last year in Pensacola and then fled the scene has been found guilty on all counts.   A Circuit Court Jury deliberated for about four hours before convicting 27-year-old Markquise Wallace on two counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of failing to remain at a crash site involving death and one count of removing a court-ordered ankle monitor. The crash killed a 28-year-old woman and the eight-month-old baby girl she was pushing in a stroller. The Baby’s mother was injured, but survived. Assistant State Attorney Matt Gordon said he plans to ask for the maximum sentence of 65 years in prison. Wallace’s sentencing is set for November 25th.
