The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old boy died yesterday after an early morning shooting. Deputies responded around 1 a.m. to the 300 block of Garfield Drive in the Mayfair subdivision and found the teenager inside a car with gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the shooting occurred near the intersection of Fairfield and Patricia drives and the injured teenager either drove himself or was driven by someone else. He died later at a local hospital. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information about the shooting asked to contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department or to call Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
