FLORIDA CIVICS REQUIREMENT

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wants to add a civics test requirement to Florida’s education system. The test will be implemented by next school year. In January, DeSantis issued an executive order calling for a complete overhaul of Florida’s education standards, which included eliminating Common Core, a set of education standards from 2010. DeSantis said passing the test as a graduation requirement is still up for discussion, but he wouldn’t rule it out.
