RABIES ALERT

The Florida Department of Health says a rabies alert remains in effect for all of Escambia County after a raccoon tested positive for rabies. The animal had been left in a box outside a local wildlife sanctuary. The Health Department said the individual who left the raccoon should be immediately evaluated by a medical professional for rabies exposure.
