Rescue says one person and five pets died in a fire yesterday morning in Freeport. Firefighters and Walton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a house fire on County Highway 3280 in Freeport around 11:00 a.m. and found a single wide mobile home on fire. One body was found inside but an identity of the victim has not been released. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause, but the fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
