Emmitt Smith, the former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame running back, and Derrick Brooks, the former Tampa Bay Bucaneers Hall of Fame linebacker, and both from Pensacola, have been recognized by the NFL as part of the roster of the 100 greatest players. A graduate of Escambia High School Smith won three Super Bowl’s with the Cowboys. He rushed for 18,355 yards over 15 seasons in the NFL and holds the league’s all-time rushing yards record. Brooks graduated from Washington High School and won one Super Bowl with the Bucaneers and made 11 Pro Bowls.
