CORONAVIRUS COULD AFFECT STATE BUDGE

Florida House Speaker Jose Oliva says fears about the coronavirus could affect the ongoing negotiations for the state budget, but was not specific about steps that lawmakers might take to address the issue. House and Senate negotiators are trying to hammer out the 92 billion-dollar budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1st. The legislative session is scheduled to end Friday but already faces an extension because of delays in negotiating the budget.
