The Escambia County School District is suspending school-sponsored, out-of-state travel for students and employees because of the coronavirus. Superintendent Malcolm Thomas said that effective immediately, all out-of-state travel is suspended for the remainder of the school year. All in-state student and staff travel is suspended for the next 30 days, as are all student field trips. Thomas said the district will reassess the situation at the end of that time frame and lift or extend the travel restrictions as appropriate.
