CORONAVIRUS PRICE-GOUGING

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody says there have been about 50 new reports of price gouging in just the past 24 hours. They include $187 for eight cans of Lysol, $1000 for 6 boxes of tissues and $788 for 12 rolls of paper towels. The Attorney General’s office has received nearly 750 reports and referred 628 for further review. The complaints usually involve cleaning supplies, face masks and hand sanitizers. Most of the complaints have come from Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. Violators can face fines as high as $25,000 a day.
