COURTS TO RESUME HEARINGS

The First Judicial Circuit says courts will resume certain limited in-person hearings with appearance times staggered to allow for social distancing. Out-of-custody individuals with county court criminal hearings scheduled before Judge Kerra Smith in Escambia County at the M.C. Blanchard Building should report according to the following schedule: Those with the first letter of their last name A through D will have a hearing time of 10:30am – Those with E through H at 11:15 – I through N at 1pm – O through R at 1:45 – S at 2:3opm and T through Z at 3:15pm. Those with scheduled hearings should report to the courthouse at least 15 minutes prior to their hearing times to allow for adequate screening.
