The pilot killed when his crop duster plane crashed north of Atmore, Alabama, Tuesday morning, has been identified. Escambia County Alabama Sheriff Heath Jackson said the victim as Eddie Gideons. The plane went down north of I-65 near the Poarch/Jacks Springs Road Exit about 7:30 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting the death investigation and the FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
