FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

The Florida Highway Patrol says a man was killed in a traffic crash after a high-speed chase that started in Bay Minette, Alabama and ended with the crash in Escambia County Florida. The Bay Minette Police Department received a report of a stolen pick-up truck from the Pep gas station on Highway 31 and a Bay Minette officer spotted vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled. The pursuit ended on Highway-29 in Cantonment when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead on scene by Escambia County Fire Rescue. He has not yet been identified.
