This Friday, August 7th, is the deadline for families in Santa Rosa County to decide if they want their children to return to school, take virtual courses, or attend remote classes with a teacher. The original deadline was Monday, but the district extended it until the end of the week to give parents more time to research the options and choose the one that’s the best fit. Santa Rosa County School Superintendent Tim Wyrosdick said students who don’t make a choice will default to the learning option they used the previous year. The first day of school in both Santa Rosa and Escambia counties is August 24th.
