Pensacola Police say a 20-year-old man has been arrested for shooting and killing his grandmother’s boyfriend. Da’Nautica Pearson lived with his grandmother and 60-year-old Erskine Ware, her boyfriend of five years, at a home in the 1300 block of East Baars Street, which is where the shooting occurred early Yesterday morning. Ware was shot multiple times and died later that day in a local hospital. Pearson was arrested Wednesday morning for attempted murder, which has since been upgraded to homicide after Ware died. Pearson is in the Escambia County Jail without bond.
