SKANSKA BARGE BREAKS LOOSE

The Florida Department of Transportation says Skanska USA believes that the line securing that construction barge that broke loose late Saturday night was intentionally cut. The barge became stuck against private docks on the Gulf Breeze side of the Bay, but there were no reports of damage to private property or to the bridge. The barge was removed by tugboats Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard has been notified and will be investigating.
