POSSIBLE ECUA SCAM

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority is warning customers about a possible scam. Nathalie Bowers, ECUA public information officer, said someone falsely claiming to work for ECUA has contacted some customers in the area north of Ten Mile Road claiming to be a contractor hired by ECUA to install energy-saving water meters. Bowers says this may be an attempt to obtain access to the resident’s home. She said most ECUA employees wear uniforms with the ECUA logo, all ECUA employees have identification badges, and many ECUA employees drive vehicles with the utility’s logo.
