The Florida Highway Patrol says a 13-year-old Milton boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Santa Rosa County Wednesday near Avalon Middle School. Troopers say it happened around 3:30 p.m. when the boy ran across the road and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
