A fire in the 8300 block of Gardenia Circle has resulted in a sixth red bulb being placed on the County’s “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath. Escambia County Fire-Rescue responded to a residential fire last Friday around 9:30 p.m. There was severe fire damage to the kitchen and some damage leading to the attic. No injuries were reported. The “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety campaign is a joint project with the city of Pensacola to promote fire safety during the month of December. Five-foot wreaths are displayed at 18 county fire stations and five city fire stations. Each time firefighters respond to a residential fire a green light bulb is replaced with a red one to remind citizens of the dangers posed by fires.
