A sixth red bulb has been illuminated on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety campaign wreath in Escambia County. A fire was reported last night just after 7 p.m. at a home on Rawlings Drive at Greenbriar Boulevard. No injuries were reported, but the house suffered heavy smoke damage. The “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety campaign is a collaborative initiative with the city of Pensacola to promote fire safety during the month of December. Five-foot wreaths are on display at 18 county fire stations and five city fire stations. Each time firefighters respond to a residential fire with damage, a red light bulb replaces a green bulb to remind citizens of the dangers posed by fires during the holiday season.
