The U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Environmental Protection  responded to a report of a spill of diesel fuel yesterday in Bayou Chico. EPA officials say about 250 gallons of diesel spilled when the boater tried to pump fuel out of a backup tank. The boater hired an environmental contractor to clean up the spill. An absorbent boom was deployed to contain the spill until the fuel can be recovered.
