The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to a domestic violence situation in Century yesterday. Deputes were called to a disturbance at a home on Elsie Davis Road where family members told them 53-year-old Samuel Macks had “gone crazy” after a family argument. He was armed with a handgun and threatened to shoot any law enforcement officers who came on his property. The SWAT team was called, but before they arrived Macks surrendered without further incident. He was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery and  improper exhibition of a firearm. He was released from the Escambia County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
