PENSACOLA POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED 2-14-17

A Pensacola Police Department officer was arrested Sunday on charges of battery, trespassing and obstructing justice for an incident that happened Friday night. The police report states that officer Jeffery McGaughey went to a Pensacola home while off-duty about 10:30 p.m.  Friday and became aggressive when told to leave. A 17-year-old boy in the home called 911, and McGaughey pushed the boy and took his cellphone. Two police officers arrived on scene and tried to calm McGaughey down, but he was eventually escorted from the property as he yelled obscenities. McGaughey was on leave from the PPD when the incident occurred and appeared via video in court Monday morning.
