State Attorney Bill Eddins says his office plans to move forward on the prosecution of Mary Rice – the companion of serial killer Billy Boyette – for the death of, Kayla Crocker, an Escambia County woman. It is believed she was shot and killed by Boyette who then stole her car. Boyette and Rice were located in Georgia a week later where Rice surrendered and Boyette killed himself. Eddins said the case will be presented to the Grand Jury within the next thirty days and the State plans to seek an indictment against Rice for First Degree Murder. Rice is currently incarcerated in theSanta Rosa County jail on a charge of Accessory after the Fact to First Degree Murder for two murders in Milton.
