Charges against one of three camp counselors arrested in a child abuse case involving a child with autism earlier this month, have been dropped. Pensacola Police arrested Rose James, Kemon Johnson and Jarrett Clifton for cruelty to a child. According to arrest reports, surveillance video showed Johnson threatening a 12-year-old boy with a metal stick, then pushing him to the ground. The State Attorney’s office said after careful review there was insufficient evidence to charge Jarrett Clifton and the charges were dropped. James now faces two counts of battery and felony child abuse charges. Johnson is facing felony child abuse charges and two misdemeanors: assault and battery.
