Plans to move the historic Gulfview Hotel in Fort Walton Beach continue to move forward. Last January, the council accepted the donation of the 111-year-old wood-framed Hotel building from its previous owners, who plan to build their new home on the site. The city has $300,000 in Community Redevelopment Agency money set aside to relocating the old hotel. Marianna-based Ducky Johnson House Movers has until March 5th to move the two-story, 5,500-square-foot building and set it up in its new location on the northwest corner of Miracle Strip Parkway and Florida Place about a half mile from its current spot at 12 Miracle Strip Parkway SE.
