Governor Rick Scott has announced Florida’s Red Snapper season will be longer than originally scheduled and anglers will have 40 days in federal and state waters. In 2017 the season was originally set for three-days, but was expanded to 39 days. Wildlife officials had proposed a 24-day season this year. The 2018 recreational season will run from June 11th to July 21st, and will include fishing for red snapper from private recreational vessels.
