A Florida Highway Patrol trooper’s car – parked at the scene of downed power lines on Fairfield Drive and Mathew Lane early yesterday morning – was hit by an unknown driver, who then fled the scene on foot. Trooper Hendrick Martinez was in his patrol car with emergency lights activated just after midnight when a 2008 Saturn Aura struck his patrol car. The driver – said to be an African-American woman with a slim build – left the car and ran from the scene. Anyone with information on the woman’s identify can call any law enforcement agency or may call Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
