MYRTLE GROVE FATAL SHOOTING

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Myrtle Grove yesterday afternoon. Deputies responded to a call about a shooting off Lillian Highway near North 48th Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, and found one person dead at scene. A Bobcat skid-steer, valued at $30,000 that was stolen over the New Year’s weekend from HH Feed and Seed on Highway 97, has been recovered. The Escambia County Alabama Sheriff’s Department reports that a hunter died in an apparent accidental shooting near Andalusia, Alabama, yesterday. BROKEN WATER MAIN

Escambia County School District Deputy Superintendent Norm Ross said a water main break near Langley Avenue and Lanier Drive in Pensacola yesterday affected two nearby schools. Emerald Coast Utility crews worked to restore water service to Holm Elementary and Workman Middle School. Superintendent Ross said bottled water will be provided for students if necessary.MORE

Pensacola Police say an arrest has been made for the weekend bomb threat at the Bay Center. EXECUTION TO PROCEED

It appears the execution of the murderer of a University of West Florida student two decades ago will proceed as scheduled on February 22nd. Eric Branch’s appeal of his death sentence was denied Monday by the Florida Supreme Court, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
