SR COUNTY JAIL INMATE FOUND DEAD 12-14-16

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department says an inmate was found dead in a cell in the Santa Rosa County Jail yesterday. Jonathan Cotant was found in his cell dead at approximately 2:30 p.m. Cotant was arrested December 3rd by the Florida Highway Patrol. The case remains under investigation as a possible suicide.MORE

LIGHTNING FATALITY 12-14-16

ROBBERY ARRESTS 12-13-16

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department says two people have been arrested after a robbery yesterday afternoon on Truman Avenue. Deputies arrested the two at the Tom Thumb gas station on Mobile Highway. Investigators found guns inside their car. The victim of the robbery was hospitalized with minor injuries.  MORE

HUNTING FATAL CHARGES 12-13-16

A Flomaton, Alabama man has been charged with killing his girlfriend during a hunting accident. Investigators say Shannon Bell and Donna Martin were illegally hunting from their pickup truck on County Road 40. Funeral services for N. L. “Swede” Danielson, co-founder of Faith Chapel Funeral Home, will be today. The 94-year-old Danielson passed away Thursday. In 1965 he and the late Tommy Smith opened Faith Chapel Funeral Home on Beverly Parkway and when Danielson retired in 2012 he was the oldest active funeral director in the State of Florida.…MORE
