SANTA ROSA DEPUTY-INVOLVED SHOOTING

The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office says a deputy responding to a disturbance call Saturday morning in North Santa Rosa County, shot a man who threatened him with a crossbow. 26-year-old Glenn  Phillips, reportedly pointed a crossbow at a deputy, who shot him in the shoulder. The Gulf Power Company says power restoration estimates is ahead of schedule. As of yesterday there are 36,174 without power still in Bay County. ESCAMBIA COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR RETIRING

Escambia County Administrator Jack Brown is retiring. Brown became County Administrator in June of 2014. He said he made the decision in order to take care of his wife and her health issues. SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST

A 27-year-old Pensacola man was arrested on sexual assault charges for inappropriately touching two underage girls. Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigators said the acts occurred between March 2013 and February 2015. CHILD ABUSE ARREST

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department said a man and woman, have been arrested for beating a child in their care. A Department of Children and Families investigator alerted authorities after an anonymous complaint was made regarding excessive bruising on the child who had been in the care of 26-year-old Tony Walker, and 35-year-old Lea Haygood.…MORE

GONZALEZ NATURAL GAS LEAK

SANTA ROSA COUNTY SCHOOLS LOCKED DOWN

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department said Avalon Middle School and Benny Russell Elementary were placed on lockdown for a time yesterday after information was received that a student overheard another saying there was a weapon at the school.
