LAWSUIT DISMISSAL SOUGHT

The Okaloosa County School Board wants a suit brought against them by former School Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson to be dismissed. The Springfield Police Department in Bay County says a body found floating in Martin Lake back on October 19th, has been identified. The Medical Examiner’s office for the 14th Judicial Circuit, said 39-yearold, Frank Yunger was a transient in the Bay County area. HOLLEY-NAVARRE SEWAGE SPILL

The Florida Department of Environment is investigating a sewage spill that occurred October 10th at the Holley-Navarre Water System’s treatment plant off Gordon Evans Road. FIRE ASSESSMENT FEE APPROVED

The Fort Walton Beach City Council has approved a controversial fire assessment fee. An $80 fee that will be collected on most resident’s monthly utility bills. OKALOOSA COUNTY DEATH INVESTIGATION

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent suicide at Hooters restaurant yesterday morning. Responding deputies found a man dead in a vehicle in the parking lot with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lieutenant Sean Lynch said the individual appeared to be from out of town. The investigation is ongoing.MORE

BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFF REMOVED

The Florida Senate has voted to remove Scott Israel permanently as Sheriff of Broward County.
