The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a missing 69-year-old man. Alvin James Crossman was last seen around 4am Saturday morning at the Westpointe Retirement Community in the 5100 block of Northpointe Parkway. RED TIDE DETECTED

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says red tide-producing organisms were detected in Bay County last week. According to the report, background concentrations of the toxic algae were observed in one sample. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning of a 9-month-old infant in a bathtub. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Pine Forest High School and George Stone Technical College were placed on lockdown yesterday after an online threat was made.
