PETE MOORE PASSES AWAY

Pete Moore, a well-known and prominent car dealer and the owner of Pete Moore Automotive, passed away after a long illness. Moore came to Pensacola in 1981 and purchased the Pensacola Buggy Works, the oldest Chevrolet dealership in Pensacola, which relocated to Warrington in 1986. CHILD ABUSE ARRESTS

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says two men have been arrested for child abuse of a two-year-old girl. DELAYED TRAFFIC FATALITY

An 87-year-old man who was injured when his truck collided with an Escambia County Area Transit bus on April 15th at the intersection of Baars Street and 9th Avenue, has died. Police say Herman Simpson went through the stop sign and collided with the ECAT bus injuring several passengers.MORE

FORMER POLICE OFFICER KILLED

A former Niceville police officer was shot and killed by his father in Midway in Santa Rosa County on Tuesday. Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said 29-year-old Erich Reitz, stabbed his mother and  father, who then shot him with a 9-millimeter pistol. Reitz died from his wounds at West Florida Hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol says a second person has died following a traffic crash on Easter Sunday. Troopers say Nelson Riley died Sunday afternoon when Marie Simpkins failed to stop at a red light and collided with a car driven by Riley’s father.
