CHILD ABUSE ARREST

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department said a man and woman, have been arrested for beating a child in their care. SANTA ROSA COUNTY SCHOOLS LOCKED DOWN

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department said Avalon Middle School and Benny Russell Elementary were placed on lockdown for a time yesterday after information was received that a student overheard another saying there was a weapon at the school. BAY COUNTY CURFEW HOURS CHANGE

As the Florida panhandle continues to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Michael, the curfew for Bay County has been changed. Authorities say the curfew is now from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. However, anyone found violating curfew is subject to arrest.MORE

PENSACOLA BEACH TO NAVARRE ROAD REMAINS CLOSED

The National Park Service says Highway 399 between Pensacola Beach and Navarre will remain closed through mid-January because of damage from Hurricane Michael. CHILD NEGLECT ARREST

A 32-year-old Pensacola woman is facing a child neglect charge after a child was found in her vehicle that had drugs and needles in it. RED TIDE CONTINUES

Red tide continues to linger in Northwest Florida. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said red tide, was observed in medium concentrations in or offshore of Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia counties. HURRICANE DAMAGE POWER RESTORATION

As of yesterday, about 135,000 customers remained without power. STATE PRISON VISITATION CANCELLED

The Florida Department of Corrections has again canceled weekend visitation at all facilities in the state for this Saturday and Sunday, October 20th and 21st.
