The International Paper mill has remained closed since Sunday’s explosion blast and there is no word when it will reopen. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting at an apartment complex off of Navy Boulevard. International Paper in Cantonment has issued a statement about the explosion at the plant Sunday night. The unemployment rate in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties continues to decline.
