SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS INSTALLED 11-30-16

DOCTOR TO BE RESENTENCED 11-29-16

A Perdido Key Doctor, convicted of a variety of offenses after he arranged to have sex with 14-year-old boy, will be resentenced. The First District Court of Appeals said some of the original convictions of 46-year-old Brian Lee, a physician at Perdido Bay Family Care, violated double jeopardy laws. FT. PICKENS CLOSED 11-29-16

Gulf Island National Seashore Park Superintendent Dan Brown, said Gulf Islands park on Santa Rosa Island and Perdido Key closed yesterday afternoon because of high winds and surf and possible flooding, especially of Ft. ECSD TRAFFIC CRASH 11-29-16

The Milton Police Department says an Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy crashed into a Milton home Monday morning while driving a department vehicle. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Merrill Drive. The occupant of the home was not injured. No other details have been released.MORE

PEDESTRIAN FATAL 11-29-16

The Florida Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle last night on Pace Boulevard and West Godfrey Street in West Pensacola. It happened at about 6 p.m. and the name of the victim has not yet been released. The investigation is continuing.MORE

ATMORE LUMBER YARD FIRE 11-28-16

Firefighters from Florida and Alabama battled a fire at a Lumber company in Atmore, Alabama, over the weekend. The fire was reported about 11:15 p.m. Saturday in an area behind the main sawmill. FOUND BODY 11-28-16

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a death investigation after a woman’s body was found on Pensacola Beach early Saturday morning. Authorities found the body on the sound side of the beach around 1 a.m. Sheriff’s investigators say there appears to be no foul play. The investigation is continuing.MORE

VEHICLE FIRE 11-28-16

A vehicle fire beneath the I-10 overpass at 9 Mile Road Sunday morning raised concerns that the overpass may have been damaged. CHIP SIMMONS TO ECSD 11-23-16

Former Pensacola Police Chief Chip Simmons, currently an assistant county administrator for Escambia County, will soon be joining the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department as Chief Deputy.
