MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says two more suspects have been arrested in connection with a deadly home invasion in Escambia County last week. 26-year-old Tatiana Williams and 37-year-old Cleveland Golden, 37, were arrested Friday. JACKSON COUNTY DOCTOR CONVICTED

A Jackson County jury has convicted a former Marianna physician for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. Doctor David Flick would write prescriptions for controlled substances in exchange for cash or the recruitment of other patients and wrote over 1,000 such prescriptions totaling 49,896 pills during a nine-month period. According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the lockdown at Escambia High School was locked down for a time yesterday after reports of trespassers on the campus. Deputies searched and found no one unauthorized on the campus and the lockdown was lifted.  MORE

A small chemical explosion in the University of West Florida science lab resulted in the evacuation of the lab yesterday afternoon.after a small chemical explosion. The Pensacola News Journal is reporting a new Krispy Kreme Doughnuts could be opening on East Nine Mile Road. CONCEALED WEAPON BILL

The Florida House and Senate are proceeding with measures that would allow people with concealed-weapons licenses to carry guns on the grounds of churches and other religious institutions that include schools.
